Olivier de Courcel has been active in the field of information technology for over twenty years. He has worked both in-house and abroad. He regularly advises foreign and French clients on digital transformation, in the context of projects involving business law and intellectual property.


Olivier de Courcel assists multiple players and users of online services, software and telecommunications. He has acquired extensive experience in the sector, both in supporting technological developments in information systems (SaaS, Big Data, Cloud Computing, etc.) and in major integration, outsourcing and facilities management projects (ERP, offshore, ITO/BPO). Alongside clients or digital service providers (ESN), he negotiates contracts for IT services, software licenses and maintenance, as well as development or distribution agreements.

He assists his clients in the protection of their copyrights, patents, databases and other intangible assets or trade secrets, particularly in the context of mergers, acquisitions and other transactions (due diligence), as well as in their regulatory compliance (data management, GDPR compliance). He regularly advises companies on licensing and copyright disputes (in particular in connection with software licensing audits).

In the world of Internet and media, Olivier de Courcel regularly deals with issues related to website content, advertising, e-reputation and defamation, electronic signature and billing, online payments and, more generally, e-commerce and consumer law.

In the field of data protection, data privacy and cybersecurity, Olivier de Courcel provides practical advice on the collection, use, sharing and protection of data, draws up IT charters, privacy policies and data processing agreements (DPAs), assists companies in managing data breaches, data protection audits and risk analyses, as well as in the implementation of international data transfers.

In the field of telecommunications, he provides his expertise in support of investment operations on operators and networks, both fixed and mobile. He assists companies in matters of interconnection, conditions of use and management of networks, access to terrestrial and satellite capacities and frequencies, as well as in transactional aspects such as the procurement of electronic communications services.

Olivier de Courcel is a member of the Paris Bar and the New York Bar.
